Convection fan motors

If the convection fan motor fails to run, or runs very slowly, this can cause the premature failure of the fan oven element. This motor should start as soon as the oven is switched on and should continue until it is switched off.

It should still be possible to hear the sound of the convection motor when the door is closed. If this is not the case the motor may need replacing.

Some ovens also have a cooling fan motor, in these cases it is neccesary to visualy check that the convection motor is running and not just rely on the sound alone.
